TERRELL TILFORD is an award-winning actor, recognized for his wide-ranging depth of roles in television and on the stage. He is also a noted art collector and social justice advocate for visual artists, having owned two art galleries over the past 25+ years.
The multi-hyphenate artist has performed at The Geffen, The McCarter, The Guthrie and was last seen on stage in the award-winning production of August Wilson’s Two Trains Running at The Matrix. And you can currently hear his voice in the animated anthology series, STAR WARS- Tales of The Jedi on Disney+. He also does double-duty as the Founder & Creative Director of Band of Vices, one of the preeminent Black-owned Art Galleries in the US.
An M.F.A. graduate of Rutgers University and UC Berkeley, he has performed a titan of roles on stages from New York to Los Angeles, in award-winning productions as wide-ranging as August Wilson’s Two Trains Running, Stickfly, The Curse of Oedipus, Hamlet, Dutchman, 12 Angry Men, as the lead role of Darren Lemming in Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out at the Geffen Playhouse directed by Randall Arney, Yellowman at The McCarter, The Memorandum at The Guthrie, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, directed by Matt Shakman and the original cast production of The Exonerated, directed by Tim Robbins at The Actors' Gang.
Terrell bridges the gap between both the entertainment and arts community, having curated the collections of some of Hollywood’s most esteemed artists & performers.
In addition to serving as the Curator for In The Paint, an initiative that was co-conceived by and hosted by the Los Angeles Lakers, Terrell is also the Creative Director for the Art Lives Here initiative with Geffen Playhouse. Terrell recently curated The Getty Museum's LA: In Dialogue exhibition. Since 1999, Terrell has worked with nearly 1000 artists from every represented country.
Originally from Los Angeles, CA, he is focused on developing new initiatives which seek to amplify artists of various medium and platforms, while raising his 10 year daughter, Marley and her adopted newborn baby brother, Matteo.
